Beretta: five centuries of Italian gunmaking

Beretta is the oldest firearms maker in the world. The earliest dated record of the family's work is a receipt from 3 October 1526, when Bartolomeo Beretta supplied 185 arquebus barrels to the Arsenal of Venice for 296 ducats. The company still works out of Gardone Val Trompia in Brescia, still under family ownership at the fifteenth generation, and 2026 marks its five hundredth year. The clothing and accessories carry the same approach — built for a specific job and made to be used rather than looked after.
