About

Nano Puff Jackets

The core of the range, the Nano Puff Jacket, uses 60g PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation wrapped in a recycled ripstop nylon shell with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. It is windproof and sheds light rain, making it reliable as a standalone on mild days or as an insulating midlayer under a waterproof shell in heavier weather. The jacket compresses into its own internal chest pocket, so it packs down small enough to carry in a day bag or leave in the car boot.

Nano Puff Hoody

The Nano Puff Hoody adds a fitted, adjustable hood for extra protection from wind and drizzle. It uses the same insulation and shell fabric as the jacket, with the hood cleanly tucked under a waterproof layer without adding bulk.

Nano Puff Vest

The Nano Puff Vest provides core warmth while leaving your arms free for movement. Useful for activities where upper-body heat management matters more than full-sleeve coverage — walking the dog, working outdoors, or layering under a jacket on colder days. The same recycled insulation and packable design apply here.

Which Nano Puff Style Is Right for You?

The Nano Puff range shares the same recycled PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation across every style. The difference comes down to coverage, hood preference and how you plan to use the layer.

Jacket: The most versatile option. Wear it as a standalone in cool, dry weather or as a midlayer under a waterproof shell when rain sets in. Packs into its own chest pocket for travel or commuting.

Hoody: Same warmth and packability as the jacket, with an adjustable hood that sits under a shell without bunching. Choose this if you walk or work outdoors in exposed or windy conditions and want head coverage built in.

Vest: Core warmth with full arm freedom. Suits active use — dog walking, gardening, cycling — or slots under a jacket on colder days when you need extra insulation around the torso without overheating your arms.

Sizing: Nano Puff fits true to Patagonia sizing. If you plan to layer it over a fleece or base layer, check the chest and length measurements on each product page. For midlayer use under a shell, your regular size should work.

Patagonia Nano Puff Collection FAQs

The Nano Puff is not fully waterproof. Its recycled ripstop nylon shell has a DWR coating that sheds light rain and drizzle, but in sustained or heavy rain it should be worn under a waterproof shell such as the Torrentshell 3L.

On its own, Nano Puff handles mild to moderately cold UK conditions well. In deeper winter cold, it works best as a midlayer under a waterproof shell, combined with a base layer underneath. Its synthetic insulation continues to perform even when damp, which suits the UK's wet winters.

Nano Puff uses 60g PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation, made from recycled post-consumer content. This synthetic fill retains warmth when wet, dries faster than down, and maintains its loft over repeated use and washing.

The range includes three styles: a full-zip jacket, a hooded jacket (Nano Puff Hoody) with an adjustable hood, and a vest for core warmth with free arm movement. All three are available in men's and women's cuts.

Yes. All Nano Puff styles compress into their own internal chest pocket, making them compact enough to carry in a day bag, rucksack or car boot. They spring back to full loft when unpacked.

Close all zips and wash on a cool gentle cycle with a mild or technical detergent. Tumble dry on low heat to restore insulation loft and reactivate the DWR coating. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, as these can reduce the jacket's water-repellent finish.

Yes. Both the shell fabric and the PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation are made from recycled materials. The range is also Fair Trade Certified sewn, meaning a premium goes directly to the workers in the factory.
